Lanita was raised in the church and began singing at a very early age, first with her Children’s Church program and then later with school choirs and church choirs. Music was always an integral part of her life and had a strong influence on her entire family.Lanita knows that her Christian upbringing was the key that brought her into the purpose God intended for her life.

As a teenager, she served in her local church as piano player and the teen choir leader. In 2000, she became actively involved in leading praise and worship at her church. It was during that season of service that Lanita realized her call to the music ministry, and she began to see vision and hope as God revealed her purpose in Christ. Her vision birthed a spiritual awakening that created a greater desire to worship the Lord through intimate, passionate worship music and to experience the fullness of His grace, mercy, liberation, and life. Through life’s difficulties and Holy Spirit’s teachings, many songs from heaven have been birthed as Lanita was delivered, healed, and set free of religion, addictions, and various woundings of the past. Today, she is singing prophetic worship unto the Lord who has been her teacher and friend along life’s way. Lanita’s first CD “I’m Free” is being released in 2008. She is a music minister and travels with her worship team ministering in song and in the Word of God. She has a passion for playing the sounds of heaven that she hears as Holy Spirit leads, and singing the words He speaks into her spirit as she plays the keyboard. Although some songs are composed “before hand”, the majority of them are typically fresh from the throne room of heaven as she plays and sings prophetically to deliver the Word from the Father’s heart.

Lanita and her husband currently pioneer a ministry at a mall in Columbus, Ohio called Living Word Worship Center, where Lanita serves as Worship Leader. Lanita also ministers to women who have lost babies due to stillbirth, premature delivery, miscarriage, and abortion. Her vision for her music ministry is to see souls awakened, healed, and to see people set free as they encounter the love of their heavenly Father.
